MPJFL Presentation Day Results!

Congratulation to all the winners from yesterday’s 2021 MPJFL Presentation Day! The year has been a difficult one, but it was fantastic yesterday to reward individual players for their efforts in 2021.

We would like to thank all players and their families for attending the day and adhering to the mandatory covid protocol that was in place. Despite the event being low key in comparison to previous years, the suspense and excitement of the vote count remained the same, along with the jubilation of those victorious.

Club Awards

Given the challenges clubs have faced unique to the last two seasons, it is important to also acknowledge the tireless efforts of club committees and volunteers, who dedicate so much of their time and effort into creating the best possible environment for their participants. To celebrate the Clubs performance we present two awards, the Best Conducted Club, and the Championship Club. This year the Club Award Recipients were:

Best Conducted Club – Balnarring Junior Football Club

Championship Club – Mount Martha Junior Football Club

Congratulations to these clubs on a great 2021 season!

Umpire Awards

Umpires are an integral part of the MPJFL and without them we would not be able to facilitate matches each Sunday. We are extremely proud to have our own MPJFL Umpires Academy, that aims to take junior participants and teach them the skills and knowledge required to umpire. It is extremely rewarding to see the development of these umpires, as they come through the ranks and use their umpiring to grow as an individual. To celebrate the achievements of the MPJFL Umpires in season 2021, we presented three awards:

Most Outstanding Umpire Award – Taj Andrewartha

Best First Year Umpire – Mia Waugh

Golden Whistle Award – Charlie Robinson Cay

Congratulations to these Umpires, and we look forward to seeing what’s to come for each of you!

A special thank you to Umpire Coach/Co-ordinator Cooper Marriott, and Umpire Administrator Stephanie Firth, for their efforts in running the MPJFL Umpires Academy this season.

2021 Mark of the Year – Ty Cull

Also awarded yesterday was the 2021 MPJFL Mark of the Year!

Mark of the year awards the best mark of 2021 that was lucky enough to be caught on camera! The winner is chosen from club submissions and also from photographs of our interleague matches and tours.

This years winner of the Mark of the Year was Ty Cull from the Dromana JFC! Ty took his winning mark representing the MPJFL in the 2021 Tasmania Tour, and what a mark it was!
