Due to the extension of the lockdown running into round 16 this weekend, the MPJFL home and away season will conclude, with the Finals to commence on the 22nd August as planned (covid permitting).

This season has been extremely difficult, which has lead the MPJFL to adopt an alternative post season format that will look to substantially increase participation while still rewarding those teams that have earnt their place to compete for a premiership in 2021.

The adopted format will see each division take on a different finals structure that has been decided based on the number of teams and the overall competition balance.

Please view each respective finals format here!

Week 1 of the Finals is scheduled for next Sunday, the 22nd August, and is planned to run for 4 weeks to conclude with the Grand Finals over the 11th and 12th of September. Given the current climate and the uncertainty surrounding the return to community sport, we are remaining hopeful that our finals series will go ahead. We have a number of contingency plans surrounding the return to play, which have been distributed to clubs to communicate directly with their members. These plans, as well as the covid functional framework that we currently have in place, ensure that we are prepared for potential interruption during the series. To assist with this uncertainty, The Mornington Peninsula Shire has allowed us to set a reserve day at the end of the finals series to ensure that there can be conclusion to the season in the case of a mid-finals lockdown. We appreciate this support from the Shire, however our fingers are crossed that it is not required!

With that being said, its FINALS TIME! We are extremely excited at the possibility of playing a finals series in 2021, particularly with the season abandoned last year.

This year our finals will be held at Crib Point Junior Football Club, Somerville Junior Football Club, and Sorrento Junior Football Club. We would like to thank these clubs for putting their hand up to facilitate our greatest stage, particularly in current situation.
